The neighbourhood of South Valley is now almost fully completed, with only a few lots remaining to be developed. The sidewalks, cross-walks, inter-connecting park pathways, new street paving and rock walls are all in.
Bring your hiking shoes (or bikes) and spend a day, because this neighborhood’s pathways lead straight to amazing duck ponds & bird sanctuary to the east and glorious Knockan Hill Park to the west.
South Valley is a newer residential enclave centrally located in the Municipality of Saanich amongst the most spectacular parks, waterways and inter-community connecting trails system that Victoria has to offer. Situated on the South side of Knockan Hill Park & Panama Flats, this sheltered & warm valley is surrounded in park trails accesses in all directions. All levels of schools are a picturesque walk away!
Welcome to South Valley with its duck ponds, bull rushes, bird sanctuary areas, and connecting paths to Knockan Hill Park , Colquitz River to Cuthbert Holmes, Panama Flats and Marigold Park. Whether it’s the baby geese in spring, catching one of the countless frogs, hearing the owls (seeing them in flight by moonlight is a wonder), or catching a glimpse of a sunning turtle this neighbourhood is worth discovering!

12 hectacres of hilltop became has been accumulated by donation and sale to become public lands in the Municipality of Saanich. Knockan Hill Park is an elevated hike or stroll through meandering chip trails and rock outcroppings taking you to the pinnacle view point over the City of Victoria & Olympic Mountain range. This beautiful oasis of natural preserve is home to an abundance of wild flowers, Garry Oak, Douglas fir and a wide range of eagles, birds, butterflies, black-tailed deer and is a wonderful backyard treasure of our South Valley neighbourhood. If you have not yet explored our backyard, please follow the pathway to Wilkinson and cross the street to the stairway to heaven.
Marigold Park to the South-East
This pocket of residential streets all back onto protected green space, park pathways and are centered around the elevated acres of picturesque Marigold Park.
Recently upgraded with new basketball and hockey sport courts, climbing equipment, groomed forest trails, picnic tables and washrooms, this beautiful Super Natural BC setting is on your block and a neighbourhood pathway from your back gate. Resident bald eagles nest yearly and if you hurry you can still watch the 2 eaglets learn to fly.
U-Vic, Camosun College & Victoria General Hospital (VGH)
It’s convenient to commute everywhere from here. The bus travels in both directions right on Wilkinson Road.

Eagle Creek Village is a 10.4-acre mixed-use development located adjacent to Victoria General Hospital. The landscape is changing quickly at the corner of Watkiss Way and Helmcken Rd. After 6 years of holding back, like many projects have, due to the economic downturn of 2008 – its full steam ahead. The project includes 8 buildings, 112,000 square feet of commercial retail space, 76,000 square feet of Professional Office space and 60 rental housing units. The second Phase is the development of 100 condominiums.
85 % LEASED Quality Foods, Starbucks, Cascadia Liquor, Tim Horton’s, Cobs Bread, Pizza Al Forno, Subway, Great Clips, and Forbes Pharmacy are joined by YM-YWCA which is taking about 10,000 square feet. The YMCA will be focusing on Childcare- family and teen programming.
